Discover the local markets in Vence
A visit to the markets in Vence is a must if you really want to feel the character and authenticity of the city.
Here you meet the inhabitants of the city in their natural element; some shopping for dinner, others for lunch while some just stroll around and take in the atmosphere.
Most of the city’s markets take place on the Place du Grand Jardin in the middle of the city, and just across the road, under the plane trees, there are restaurants and cafés where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the atmosphere in the company of a good lunch.
Local, sustainable and organic food in the markets
Sustainability is increasingly crucial for consumers and that is why Vence supports producers by encouraging more local and responsible food to be offered both in the market and in local shops.

Special efforts and priority for local trade
The traditional local markets are affected by an increasing development of modern suburbs with large supermarkets and rapidly growing e-commerce.
Vence has chosen to put good efforts into reversing the negative trend for the local markets.
Now there is a focus on urban development and decoration of the city, which prioritizes pedestrians and provides good parking conditions with two-hour free parking.
In addition, the city also supports cultural events all year round for the benefit of both locals and tourists.
