La Garoupe Beach Antibes
La Garoupe Beach Antibes is very beautifully located in a small bay with cliffs on each side. There are several private areas with rental chairs and umbrellas.
A smaller area is public, but if you walk a little out of the beautiful coastal path Sentier du Tirepoil, there are several areas you can enjoy. Read about the amazing hike here.
La Garoupe is a sandy beach with fantastic clear water. The view doesn’t disappoint. You can see the whole bay to Nice and the mountains in the background.

There are several restaurants on the beach in different price ranges: Plage Keller & Le Cesar, Pavillon Beach.
History of the beach
The beach has a wonderful history from the 1920s. At the end of the Belle Époque period, a well-known American society couple bought a villa on Cap d’Antibes. They spent the winter cleaning the beach so that in the summer they could welcome their famous friends.
Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso and Francis Scott Fitzgerald were among the first to enjoy this sublime beach.

How to get to La Garoupe Beach?
By car, you follow the signs towards Cap d’Antibes, and turn left at the sign “Plage de la Garoupe”. The beach is located about 2-3 km from the center of Antibes. It takes about 40 minutes to walk there and it’s a very nice walk.
Bus no. 2 from Antibes stops close to the beach.
Parking at La Garoupe Beach Antibes
There are both private and public parking. In high season, you have to come early or late. There is mostly parking on the long Avenue André Sella – see Google Map at the end of the article.
Out of season, the place is used a lot for the hike around Cap d’Antibes.
