Cannes Musical Fireworks

Each of the six performances, performed in the bay of La Croisette in Cannes, is celebrated by more than 100,000 spectators. This extraordinary event offers magical moments consisting of professionally choreographed scenes that combine high-precision fireworks and musical harmony from the most famous soundtracks.

The Cannes Fireworks Festival itself is a folk festival and audiences flock to the beach along La Croisette, with blankets and picnic baskets, to enjoy the warm evening and spectacular fireworks. And there is room for everyone.

The best place to watch the fireworks is right next to the launch pads, in the water, along La Croisette, or from a boat on the Mediterranean. For example, consider experiencing the fireworks from a catamaran – there are many opportunities to buy a seat on the day for an unforgettable experience.

If you want to make the whole experience even more magical, you can also rent lounge beds at one of the many restaurants by the beach. This costs anywhere from €40 to €65.

In addition, it is a great experience to see the amazed expressions and joy on the faces of children of all ages who are surprised by something so magical that they can hardly believe their eyes.

International Fireworks Competition

Since 1967, fireworks masters have competed to win the coveted “Vestale d’Or” (Gold Vestal) award, awarded every four years (next in 2027). To compete for this, one of the previous years you must have won the “Vestale d’Argent” (Silver Vestal) or have received the jury’s prize.

Audience competition – vote & win

In addition to the professional competition, which is decided by a jury, spectators can also participate in the competition to choose the fireworks they like best. Here you participate via the official website  www.festival-pyrotechnique-cannes.com.

Experience the Cannes fireworks exclusively from a catamaran

At the slightly more expensive end, you can also choose to experience the romance and excitement of Cannes Bay on one of the six evening boat to the Lérins Islands, followed by the musical fireworks display over Cannes Bay.

This is a very special experience, with personal service on a small group tour, as you sail around at dusk and experience the illuminated islands, sip a cocktail or two, then anchor the catamaran and watch the famous fireworks display from the sea.

NOTE! If you want to get your hands on this experience, you need to book quickly, as these tours sell out several months in advance. Book now and remember that you always have free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

Tips for transportation and parking

As magical as the Cannes Fireworks Festival nights are, traffic from the city gets stuck around 9pm until after midnight.

If you come by car and park in one of the parking garages in the center, you should be aware that you can only get out again after midnight.

If you drive your own car, make sure you arrive in Cannes much earlier so you can still easily get around and find parking in the streets outside the city center. Please note that all Cannes parking garages are full at 8.30pm.

To avoid this, you can choose to take the train, which is easily accessible from most towns on the Riviera.

Another alternative is to drive to a nearby town and take the train in. Both Biot and Villeneuve-Loubet railway stations have ample free parking nearby. Remember check the train timetables to go back to the car.
