Tour description: hike on Sentier de la Brague – 10 km
This description is starting from Biot and finishes in Valbonne. You can also go in the opposite direction. The whole trip goes along a beautiful and scenic forest path that charmingly follows the river la Brague. In summer, the walk is nice and shaded, and in winter the forest provides shelter from the wind.
The vegetation is varied, and along the way there are several natural small “swimming pools” with cool water where you can take a refreshing dip in.
The path is well marked and there are several wonderful places to stop for a picnic.
And whether you go from Biot or from Valbonne, the final destination provides ample opportunity to get a well-deserved serving at one of the cities’ cozy restaurants or cafes.
There are very good parking facilities in Biot (parking des Bâchettes), and you owe it to yourself to take a walk in this cozy town, which is world famous for its production of glass (La Verrerie de Biot) and the impressive Fernand Léger art museum.

Tour start hike Sentier de la Brague – Biot to Valbonne
The tour starts in Biot and begins at the small road Chemin Joseph Durbec. Follow this paved road about 300 meters until it turns sharply 90 degrees. In the bend, on the left side is a small staircase that leads down to the path itself.
From here, all you have to do is follow the signs for Valbonne. The hiking trail is officially called “Sentier de la Brague” and if you have any doubts along the way (sometimes the path splits without signage), then take the path that follows closest to the river.
Return to Valbonne
You can either walk the same way back or take Bus 10, which departs right next to the car park at Rue d’Opio.
