Day 1 in Nice
If you only have one day in Nice and haven’t yet chosen a specific museum or other fixed experience, there’s still plenty to see.
We recommend you start with a lovely walk along the iconic Promenade des Anglais and enjoy the views of the Mediterranean Sea. From here you can make your way up the famous castle hill, Colline du Château, for stunning panoramic views of Nice, the harbor and the coastline.
After the castle hill tour, we recommend a visit to Cours Saleya, where you can experience the lively flower square known for its colorful stalls and fragrant flowers – a true experience for the senses.
Then you can go down into Vieux Nice – the old town – where you can stroll through the narrow, colorful streets and experience the southern French atmosphere with markets, small shops and cozy cafés. Next, we recommend a stop at the historic Place Garibaldi a beautiful square surrounded by classic buildings and great restaurants.
From here you continue to Place Masséna the lively center of Nice. Take time to visit the Galeries Lafayette just next to the square, where you can explore the famous department store. Then continue along Rue de la Liberté, a cozy street filled with shops and cafés, before ending your day in the elegant Carré d’Or neighborhood – known for its exclusive boutiques, beautiful boulevards and sophisticated atmosphere.
As an alternative or complement to the walking tour, you can also choose to hop on a hop-on/hop-off bus which will take you around the city’s main sights and give you a great overview of Nice in no time.
