The markets at Cours Saleya
Colorful awnings cover most of the Cours Saleya and protect the products offered in the daily market. Both locals and tourists come here to shop or sometimes just to experience the special and intense French atmosphere.
The food stalls are just as expensive as the flower stalls. The stalls attract people with good homemade food as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. Sit at one of the tables under the colorful awnings and enjoy life – c’est la vie!
The four markets at Cours Saleya
Cours Saleya hosts four different markets. The most famous is the Marché aux Fleurs meaning the Flower Market, which is held from Tuesday to Sunday. It is actually a combination of the flower market and the fruit and vegetable market, Marché aux Fruits et Legumes et Marée, but the name Marché aux Fleurs is commonly used for them.
In addition, Cours Saleya also makes room for two other markets; Marché à la Brocante and Marché Artisanal Nocturne. These are the flea market and the craft market, respectively. The flea market is only open on Mondays and the craft market is open in the evenings during the tourist season.

Cafés and historical attractions at Cours Saleya
This district is full of restaurants, cozy cafés and historical attractions. In the middle of the Cours Saleya, almost radiated by the explosion of color from the many flowers, lies the Chapelle de la Miséricorde, the chapel of mercy, which presents a unique architecture and is considered by many to be one of the world’s most beautiful baroque buildings.
The eastern part of the Cours Saleya is directly adjacent to the oldest part of the Old Town of Nice. This part of town consists of narrow streets with historic attractions, patisseries, fresh pasta shops and a wide selection of cozy shops. Here you can experience the Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate and the Palais Lascaris, among others.
Sit in one of the many outdoor cafés and restaurants and let yourself be seduced by the southern French atmosphere.
