Thousands of plants and animals
You can quickly spend 4-5 hours in Phoenix Park, which is filled to the brim with thousands of plants and animals.
The park is located in the western part of Nice just across from the airport, and was built in 1990. Phoenix Parks popularity places it in the top 10 on the list of most popular attractions on the Côte d’Azur.
The 7 hectares (approx. 10 football fields) include a huge greenhouse, a park with lake and wildlife, a play and climbing area for the children and an eatery where you can buy food and drinks.
In the Phoenix Park you can experience no less than 2,500 different plant species, including, among other things, a collection of more than 50 different species of palm trees.
The “green diamond”
Wildlife is also varied. And with more than 2,000 animals, with over 70 different species of mammals, birds, reptiles are also represented, as well as amphibians and insects.
In other words, there is plenty to look out, for both in the park and inside the pyramid-shaped greenhouse “Green Diamond”, which, with an internal height of 25 meters and an area of 7,000 m2 recreates tropical and subtropical climates all year round in an explosion of colors.
In addition to the amazing flora and fauna, children have great opportunities to use their energy with free access to playgrounds with swings and slides. For an additional fee, there are also 4 more advanced climbing tracks that the children are challenged by.
