Princess Grace Rose Garden is laid out in English garden design

The garden was designed by landscape architect Jean Mus and is a beautiful example of English garden design with a touch of the Mediterranean.

Princess Grace Rose Garden is filled with a string of trees, plants and flowers, including olive trees, cypresses, bougainvillea and lavender. There are also several fountains and water features in the garden, which contribute to the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

The garden has more than 6,000 rose bushes and a total of 315 different varieties from all over the world. For rose enthusiasts, all roses are equipped with a QR code, so you can read more about the individual variety.

Due to the environmentally friendly practices used to maintain the garden, it has been awarded the label “organic” garden.

Rose “Princess of Monaco”

Princess Grace was passionate about flowers, especially roses and orchids. As a wedding gift, the famous French rose breeder, Meilland, created the rose “Grace of Monaco”. In 1981, another rose was presented at the legendary rose ball “Bal de la Rose“. The rose had the red-and-white colors, like the princely flag, and the princess rejoiced so much in it that the rose was named “Princess of Monaco”.

In the garden, you can also admire a statue of Princess Grace, which was created by the Dutch sculptor, Kees Verkade. The statue stands in the center of the garden and is surrounded by a lake, which adds to the beauty and grandeur of the statue.

In addition to the statue, there are other monuments and plaques in the garden that pay tribute to Princess Grace. These include a plaque commemorating the day of her death, as well as a plaque honoring her humanitarian work.
